Team Colorado 2017 Eclipse Project

The Colorado Eclipse team is flying a core payload via high altitude ballon to capture and transmit live video and pictures of the upcoming solar eclipse on August 21 2017.

April is a 2nd year student at Red Rocks Community College.  She is currently the team lead on the RRCC Solar Eclipse project and has previously launched a scientific balloon payload with an RRCC team.

Applications are due by March 1, 2018 for the 2018-2019 academic year (including unofficial transcript and mentor support statement).

The Colorado Space Grant Transfer Scholarship is a 1-time $2,000 scholarship for use at your new 4-yr institution.

The application process for the scholarship program also requires submission of an unofficial transcript and statement of support (emailed from a Space Grant advisor at a COSGC community college). Note: This application is for the Space Grant scholarship.  You must complete the application process AND be accepted at (or in the process of applying to) a 4-year institution in order to be eligible. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Accepted at (or in the process of applying to) a 4-year Colorado institution of higher education for academic year 2018-2019;
  • Currently (or previously) working on a Space Grant project at a 2-year COSGC institution of higher education;
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

The COSGC is funded by NASA and is a state-wide organization involving 21 colleges, universities and institutions around Colorado. Our organization provides Colorado students access to space through innovative courses, real-world hands-on telescope and satellite programs, and interactive outreach programs.

Our students interact with engineers and scientists from NASA and aerospace companies to develop, test, and fly new space technologies and to support our outreach and teaching programs.

We welcome all students and are always looking for way to enhance their experience through new interactions and collaborations with NASA, government agencies, and companies.
